*5 STARS!!*

This was such a fun and easy read. I have wanted to read it for so long but kept putting it off. Now with the World Cup on I thought it would be a perfect time to read a footy type romance!

So, one of my favourite films is She’s The Man and even though this is completely different I did keep picturing it and Amanda Bynes (before she went crazy) in my head. I love when I read about a heroine playing ‘boy’ games! I just always find them extra sassy and spunky. I loved that she doesn’t care what people think. She loves the game and is awesome at it so why not play?

Derek is kicked out of private school for one too many pranks and after setting pigs out the head master has had enough. Because his dad is in the Navy the person that comes to get him is his Step Mother who has a bombshell, they are moving to Chicago with her family. Derek is not pleased but because his only family is out on sea he can’t really say anything. This is where he meets Ashtyn who is his Step Mums sister and makes her his step aunt (lol)..

Lets just say they get off on the wrong foot (no pun intended), Ashtyn literally stabs Derek in the foot, yeh not a great way to meet a hot guy that will be staying in your house! At times Ashtyn annoyed me, everything Derek did she got on her high horse and was a tad over judgemental, she felt everything he was doing was to go over board on annoying her and actually half the time he didn’t even realise he was doing it (typical male).

Ashtyn gets voted team captain for the football team which she is thrilled but at the same time feels guilty has her boyfriend was expecting to get voted captain. They have a war going on with the other school who they will be playing against soon. Because Ashtyn is team captain all the pranks end up being for her. Not only is she struggling with the other team and how to deal with Derek bombarding in her life but now her boyfriend has just betrayed her in the worst way.. Yep he’s gone to the other team.. douchebag!

^^ I agree he really was full of shit!

I really loved the banter between Ashtyn and Derek. I found it did go back and fourth a few too many times, I just wanted them to hurry up and make out but I do love the angst so I can’t moan! Derek is hiding some secrets from Ashtyn and I knew when they came out shit really was going to hit the fan! I found I preferred Derek’s POV a bit more than Ashtyn’s just because she did get whiney at times whereas Derek was just fun. The chemistry between these two was just so hot.

“Because I was too tempted to break our no-touching-or-kissing rule.” He looks me up and down. “Bein’ here with you… You’ve really got under my skin.”

The other characters in this story was fantastic.. I loved Ashtyn’s team mates they was supportive of her and all like big brothers. I’m hoping a few of her team mates stories come out as I just love them 🙂 Derek’s stepbrother Julian was so cute and hilarious.

I really needed a fun, heart pounding book and I found it.. Yes I did cry with this one as well! Not as much football in it as I thought but we had camping.. 😉 and a very hot hero and a crazy grandma.. You are missing out if you haven’t read this!

“You’re beautiful, you know that?” he whispers. I look away. “No, I’m not.” “I can’t imagine a more beautiful girl,” he says, then adds, “even if you are controllin’ and bossy.”
